Metadata Requirements

While robust metadata created correctly and consistency aids discovery, it is understood that minimal metadata may be appropriate for ingesting files into Digital Collections (DC) for digital preservation. After ingest, DC records can be augmented to improve access with search and browse. Iterative metadata workflows are essential to completing our work in a timely and efficient fashion. Note: For publicly accessible DC records, populate the Summary field (decterms:abstract) to support the University’s Digital Accessibility Policy.

The Minimum Metadata Template is the same as the regular ingest template. However, only the required and required if available fields are visible; the recommended and optional fields are hidden.

Required:
